From Amman to the Gulf: what your restaurant systems must survive
The new branch should not mean rebuilding the menu from memory or teaching the kitchen a different way to read tickets. But copying your Amman setup without checking local requirements can leave you unable to take orders on opening night.

Expand without rebuilding by keeping menu structure and operating rules consistent, while validating payments, permissions and order connections for each market. Nexara is a restaurant order and operations platform built in Amman, Jordan, for the Arabic-speaking Middle East; its live deployments are in Jordan today. Gulf deployment needs market-specific checks before commitment.
What should stay shared, and what needs local approval?
Separate the restaurant's operating model from the country's requirements. Product names and modifier rules should not drift because a new branch opens. Payment acceptance and tax documents need their own review. Copying a working Jordan configuration is a starting point, not evidence that it meets another country's rules.
Nexara has a franchise, company and branch hierarchy, with user-to-branch assignments and permissions. It is the order and operations layer beside the till. That distinction matters: retaining the order workflow does not remove the need for a locally appropriate till and invoicing arrangement.
| Area | What to preserve | What to validate locally |
|---|---|---|
| Menu | Product definitions and modifier rules | Channel menus, availability and approved selling prices |
| People | Who owns menu decisions and handles exceptions | Company boundaries and each user's branch access |
| Printing | Readable ticket format and category routing rules | Actual printers, branch agent and backup connection |
| Money | A documented reconciliation procedure | Currency, payment acceptance and tax documents |
| Aggregators | Order handling and cancellation procedures | Partner approval and outlet mapping in the destination market |
For franchise expansion in the Middle East, systems should reflect the legal and operating structure you actually use. Do not put a separately owned franchise inside a company merely because it makes the demo look simpler. The guide to multi-branch restaurant operations in Jordan covers the branch foundation before a border is involved.
Can one menu serve branches in different countries?
Keep one agreed catalogue definition: what each product is, which modifiers belong to it, and who can change it. Nexara supports products, categories, modifier groups, channel-specific menus and per-branch availability. It also supports catalogue push to Talabat and Careem.
Those capabilities are not proof of a global master menu that automatically governs every separate franchise company. Before choosing the company structure, demonstrate where the catalogue sits and how a change reaches each intended branch. Ask explicitly whether the proposed arrangement needs duplicate catalogue maintenance.
- Change an Arabic product name and a modifier, then inspect the customer menu and printed ticket.
- Mark an item unavailable at the destination branch and confirm the Amman branch remains available.
- Check which menu each sales channel sees, including products that should not be sold through an aggregator.
- Verify destination prices in the actual proposed setup. Do not assume per-country price overrides or approval workflows.
Write down who approves price changes before opening. Currency conversion cannot decide what a sandwich should cost in another market. The Nexara feature catalogue describes the available menu controls; the deployment review must establish how they fit your ownership structure.
Will printers and staff permissions survive a new branch?
A ticket routed to the wrong kitchen is an operating failure even when the dashboard looks correct. Nexara uses a desktop print agent per branch and supports standard ESC/POS thermal printers over USB or network. Routing can select printers by branch and product category.
Arabic text is rendered as images for thermal printing, and tickets can include English. Test the destination branch's actual printer with long item names, modifiers and the receipt template. A clean print from an office printer in Amman does not prove the kitchen printer is ready.
Test failure recovery deliberately. Disconnect the branch internet connection, restore it and inspect the waiting tickets. Orders keep arriving in the cloud queue while the branch connection is down; the order board itself needs a connection. Keep a phone hotspot beside the printer PC as a backup. This is not an offline order board.
Then test access using staff accounts rather than the owner's login. Nexara has roles including franchise owner, area manager and branch manager. Cashier, waiter and branch-manager payment access is tied to their branch. Confirm the intended restrictions in the proposed setup, especially across separate companies.
If a printer fails, categories can be rerouted from the dashboard, with automatic failover where a backup printer is configured. Include that recovery drill in branch training rather than leaving it for the first busy service.
Does multi-currency mean the Gulf branch is ready?
No. Nexara has multi-currency functionality with exchange rates and price conversion. JOD remains the marketed default, and subscription pricing today is in Jordanian dinar. These facts do not establish local payment onboarding, compliant invoices or consolidated financial reporting across currencies.
Treat multi-country restaurant software as something to prove with a transaction, not a currency dropdown. Trace a destination-currency order from its displayed menu price through payment, receipt and refund. Check rounding and ask how reports label currencies. Do not add JOD and SAR amounts into a chain total without an agreed conversion method.
Nexara supports online card payments through HyperPay when enabled by the company, including refunds and payment webhooks. Confirm merchant eligibility and activation for the destination market. An existing Jordan payment setup is not evidence that the new legal entity can accept payments.
Which order connections need approval in the new market?
Nexara has Talabat and Careem order intake through the partners' APIs. Activation is per market and subject to partner approval. Ask about activation in your market before making the opening date depend on either connection.
Nexara does not offer Jahez or DHUB today. HungerStation, Noon Food and Deliveroo are not integrated either. If a required opening channel is absent, plan its separate handling or choose a platform with that connection verified. A public API is not a completed integration.
Use the Talabat and Careem order intake details to distinguish incoming food orders from own-order delivery dispatch. Careem food-order intake and Careem Express dispatch are different flows; approval or availability for one should not be treated as confirmation of the other.
- Obtain confirmation for the exact market, merchant entity and outlet.
- Verify outlet and product mapping before sending a test order.
- Check that modifiers and cancellations reach the correct branch.
- Confirm the supported status updates in the partner's view, not only in Nexara.
What should the final opening rehearsal prove?
Run a rehearsal on the destination branch's equipment with the people who will work there. Nexara provides an Arabic and English dashboard and storefront, but language support alone does not establish that local addresses, payment acceptance or staff procedures are ready.
- Place an order through every approved launch channel and check its branch assignment.
- Read the kitchen ticket against the ordered items and modifiers.
- Test an unavailable item and a cancelled order.
- Complete a payment and refund where enabled, then inspect the records.
- Interrupt the printer connection and confirm recovery without duplicate automatic tickets.
- Sign in as branch staff and test what they can and cannot access.
- Record unresolved failures, their owners and the opening decision.
Require evidence for each pass: a ticket, an order record or a confirmed permission check. Leave a channel disabled if its approval or test is incomplete. A smaller verified launch is preferable to a full menu of untested connections.
Nexara offers a free plan plus paid plans per branch in JOD, with current rates on request. Confirm the required printer and feature allowances for your proposed setup. Support is through WhatsApp and email on Amman hours, in Arabic and English; founder Issa Al-Dalu answers support. Put that coverage into the opening plan.
What to remember
- Keep menu definitions consistent, but prove how updates work across the proposed company structure.
- Multi-currency functionality does not establish local payment or invoicing readiness.
- Test branch printers, permissions and approved order connections before opening.
- Send Nexara at nexaratech.io your destination country and required channels through WhatsApp below to discuss market fit.
Questions people ask
Can I use Nexara for a restaurant branch in Saudi Arabia?
Discuss the exact setup before committing. Nexara runs through a browser and the Windows print agent, but its live deployments are in Jordan today; Saudi payment activation, required channels and invoicing need separate checks.
Does Nexara support currencies other than JOD?
Multi-currency functionality, exchange rates and price conversion exist. JOD is the marketed default, and subscription pricing is in Jordanian dinar today; validate the destination-currency transaction flow before opening.
Will my Talabat integration work automatically in another country?
No automatic cross-border activation should be assumed. Talabat and Careem activation is per market and subject to partner approval.
Can the Gulf branch keep taking orders if its internet fails?
Orders can continue arriving in the cloud queue, and printing catches up after reconnection. The branch order board needs internet, so provide a backup connection.
Does Nexara replace the local invoicing system?
Nexara is the order and operations layer beside the till. It does not provide ZATCA certification or JoFotara e-invoicing today.
Can I control every franchise menu from one master catalogue?
Nexara supports menu controls and a franchise, company and branch hierarchy. A single master catalogue across separate companies is not established here; demonstrate the proposed ownership structure and update process before committing.
