Is your restaurant invisible to AI? A 20-minute self-audit
A customer asks an AI assistant for the best shawarma near your branch, and your restaurant does not appear. You can test that in twenty minutes.

Run the same five prompts in ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude and Perplexity, in English and Arabic. Score whether each assistant finds the right restaurant, reports current facts and gives a usable ordering path. Nexara is a restaurant order and operations platform built in Amman, Jordan, and sits beside the till as the order and operations layer.
Figures in this post are illustrative examples, not a client's actual results.
What should you prepare before the audit?
Use the same restaurant name, branch address and phone number in every test. Open ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude and Perplexity in separate tabs. Run each prompt in English and Arabic, then record the answer without correcting the assistant first.
Use a private browser window where possible. Personal chat history can make a result look better than a new customer's experience. Test from the restaurant's service area, especially if delivery coverage changes by branch.
- Write the exact restaurant name and branch location.
- Copy the current menu URL and Google Business Profile URL.
- Record opening hours, delivery areas, phone number and ordering link.
- Prepare the five prompts below in English and Arabic.
- Score every answer before fixing any fact.
Which five prompts should you run?
Replace the words in brackets with your own details. Do not add extra context on the first run. The point is to see what a new customer receives from a short request.
- Discovery: "What restaurants serve [cuisine] near [area, city]? Include [restaurant name] if it is relevant."
- Identity: "What is [restaurant name] in [city]? Give its address, cuisine, phone number and ordering link."
- Menu: "What can I order from [restaurant name]? List the current menu items, prices, options and unavailable items, with the source and date."
- Choice: "Which is better for a family meal near [area], [restaurant name] or [competitor]? Compare price range, food type, delivery area and ordering method using current sources."
- Action: "I want to order [item] from [restaurant name] for delivery to [area]. What should I do, and what information must I confirm?"
The fifth prompt tests whether the assistant can move from description to a usable next step. A correct phone number is not an ordering path.
How do you score the answers?
Score each prompt from 0 to 2. Give 2 when the answer is accurate and supported by a current source. Give 1 when the assistant finds the restaurant but gives a partial or uncertain answer. Give 0 when it cannot identify the restaurant or gives a different business.
| Score | Meaning | Action |
|---|---|---|
| 2 | Correct name, facts and next step | Keep the public source current |
| 1 | Found, but incomplete or confused | Correct identity, menu or ordering path |
| 0 | Unknown, wrong business or unusable answer | Fix the entity and repeat the test |
Add the five scores for each assistant and language. A high English score with a low Arabic score means the restaurant's Arabic name, menu or public descriptions need work. A high discovery score with a low action score means customers can find you but cannot complete the next step.

What are the three common findings?
1. The assistant says it does not know the restaurant
This usually means the public entity is weak or inconsistent. The restaurant name may differ between Google, the website, Instagram and delivery listings. The address may be written in Arabic in one place and English in another. Fix the exact name, category, branch address, phone, hours and website first.
2. The assistant confuses it with another business
This happens when names are similar, branches share a district, or a restaurant has changed its name. Add one plain entity sentence to the website and business profiles: "[Restaurant] is a [cuisine] restaurant in [area, city], serving [main food] for [service type]." Keep the sentence identical across public listings.
3. The assistant gives wrong facts
Common errors include old hours, a closed branch, an outdated menu price or a phone number that no longer answers. Mark every wrong fact in a table. Correct the source that owns the fact, then update secondary profiles. Do not ask an assistant to remember a correction. Change the public page it reads.
What Nexara adds
Every Nexara restaurant storefront is orderable by AI agents that speak ACP (2026-04-17), UCP or MCP. Agents read the live menu, receive a server-priced delivery quote and place a cash-on-delivery or pay-at-counter order into the kitchen queue with an AI agent badge. Anonymous agents verify the customer's Jordanian phone by SMS code; trusted platforms complete with a key.
Agent ordering supports cash on delivery or pay at the counter, not card payment. Read the Nexara Agentic Commerce Page for the capability.
What should you fix after the first run?
- Use one official restaurant name, address and phone format across Google, the website and social profiles.
- Publish opening hours, delivery areas, cuisine, branch details and a working ordering link in readable text.
- Keep menu names, prices, modifiers and availability current on the restaurant website.
- Create English and Arabic versions of the same essential facts. Do not translate the name differently on each page.
- Add recent customer reviews and keep the Google Business Profile complete.
- Test the ordering path from a customer's phone, including the branch, delivery area and payment choice.
- Repeat the five prompts after the corrections and save the date of the second test.
How does the audit connect discovery to ordering?
An assistant may know your restaurant but lack a reliable menu, delivery area or ordering path. Put the restaurant name, branch details, menu and availability in readable text. Keep the same facts across every public listing and give customers a direct way to order.
Nexara supports commission-free ordering on the restaurant's own channels, Arabic and English menus, and orders that reach the branch queue. Its agent ordering capability covers ACP, UCP and MCP agents, with cash on delivery or pay at the counter.
The platform is built in Amman and its live deployments are in Jordan. Read AI Discovery for Restaurants and the Prepare a Restaurant for AI Agents Checklist for related checks. See Nexara Features for the wider platform.
What to remember
- Run the same five prompts in four assistants and two languages.
- Score discovery, identity, facts, recommendation and action separately.
- The common failures are unknown identity, business confusion and wrong public facts.
- Fix the source pages, then repeat the audit with dated answers.
- Nexara storefronts include an agent ordering path using ACP, UCP or MCP.
Questions people ask
How can I test if ChatGPT knows my restaurant?
Ask for your restaurant by name and location, then request its address, phone, menu and ordering link. Repeat the same test in a private window and compare the answer with your current public facts.
Should I test more than ChatGPT?
Yes. Run the five prompts in ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude and Perplexity. Different assistants may use different public sources, so one correct answer does not prove consistent visibility.
What does an AI visibility audit measure?
It measures whether an assistant can discover and identify the right restaurant. It also checks current facts, recommendations and a usable ordering next step.
Why does AI mention another restaurant instead of mine?
Similar names, inconsistent addresses and incomplete business profiles can create entity confusion. Use one exact name, one clear entity sentence and matching branch facts across public pages.
How do I fix wrong restaurant information in AI answers?
Correct the source that owns the fact, such as your website or Google Business Profile, then update other public listings. Run the same prompt again and save both answers with their dates.
Can an AI agent place a restaurant order through Nexara?
Every Nexara restaurant storefront is built for agents that speak ACP (2026-04-17), UCP or MCP. They can read the live menu, get a server-priced delivery quote and place a cash-on-delivery or pay-at-counter order into the kitchen queue.
Does agent ordering support card payments?
No. Agent orders use cash on delivery or pay at the counter. Agents do not touch card payment.
What should my restaurant prepare for AI discovery?
Prepare one clear entity sentence, a complete Google profile, current reviews, accurate hours and a phone that answers. Keep menu prices, availability and the ordering path readable and consistent.
