Restaurant payments in Jordan: what Nexara does today, and what it does not

Nexara is a restaurant order and operations platform built in Amman, Jordan. On payments it does four plain things: cash on delivery or pickup, CliQ payment links for phone orders, online card payment through HyperPay when the restaurant enables it, and pay at the counter or table for dine-in. It does not run a multi-gateway payment router, and it never touches card numbers.

Why this post changed

An earlier version of this page described a payment abstraction layer across twelve regional gateways, with fallback routing and automated compliance. Nexara does not offer that, and a claim like it costs a restaurant more than a missing feature would. This version says what the platform does in production in Jordan today, nothing more.

What Nexara does with payments today

Order channelPayment optionsWhere it shows up
Phone orders (call center)Cash or card at the door; a CliQ payment link sent to the customerPayment method on the order, revenue by method and branch
Restaurant website and appCash on delivery or pickup; online card through HyperPay when the restaurant enables itOrder status moves from awaiting payment to confirmed
Dine-in by table QRPay at the counter or at the table; online card is hidden so a shared bill is never paid twiceDine-in tab per table
Talabat and CareemPaid inside the app; Nexara records the method and the channelRevenue by channel, same board as your own orders

Nexara records the payment method on every order and reports revenue by method, channel and branch, with a cashier reconciliation report for cash. The till stays where it is: the cashier types the net sale at close, and Nexara is not a cash register.

Why Stripe and Square are not the answer in Jordan

Stripe has no Jordanian entity, so a restaurant with a Jordanian commercial registration cannot open a Stripe account. Square does not operate in the region. The rails that exist here are CliQ, the instant transfer service run by JoPACC and offered through Jordanian banks, and local card acquirers reached through gateways such as HyperPay. That is why Nexara's card option is HyperPay and its phone-order option is a CliQ link, not a Western checkout.

What Nexara does not do

Questions restaurants ask

Can my customers pay by card on my Nexara website?

Yes, when you enable HyperPay for your company. Until then the site offers cash on delivery or pickup.

Can I take CliQ for phone orders?

Yes. The call-center screen sends the customer a CliQ payment link and the order is marked as paid online.

Does Nexara replace my cash register?

No. Nexara is the order and operations layer beside the till. The cashier enters the net sale at close.

Does Nexara handle card data or PCI scope for me?

Nexara never sees a card number. HyperPay handles the card; Nexara stores the order and its payment status.
