Dispatch: Careem Express, TopDeliver, Nashmi, or your own drivers
A packed order is waiting at the pass, and the cashier thinks the shift manager booked the driver. The shift manager thinks the cashier did.

Nexara lets you dispatch your restaurant's orders through Careem Express, TopDeliver, Nashmi or your own drivers. It is a restaurant order and operations platform built in Amman, Jordan. Courier charges are separate from commission-free ordering. Start with a WhatsApp conversation with the founder about your branch and preferred courier.
Which orders need a delivery booking?
The food can be ready while nobody has booked its ride. For website and phone deliveries, give one person responsibility for collection. Nexara lets that person book a courier from the existing order through Careem Express, TopDeliver or Nashmi, or dispatch with your own drivers through its driver role.
Careem Express and Careem food ordering belong to the same company, but Nexara handles them through separate integrations. Food-order intake brings a Careem order into Nexara; Express books transport for an order your restaurant already has. Ask Careem which account setup applies to your restaurant.
Put a named dispatcher in charge of booking and checking collection for website and phone deliveries. Nexara charges no commission on your website, app or call-center orders. The own delivery versus aggregators guide covers the choice of sales channel separately from who carries the food. Talabat and Careem order intake covers incoming aggregator orders.
How do you book a courier from the order?
Open the delivery order for the branch preparing the food. Nexara supports booking and cancellation from that order for Careem Express, TopDeliver and Nashmi. Once your provider connection is set up, run through a booking before service so the dispatcher knows what to look for.
- Get the address right first. For a phone order, ask: “Are we delivering to your saved address?” Then check which branch is cooking the food, rather than using the customer's usual branch by habit.
- Make sure the courier serves that address. Nexara supports radius, area-based and polygon delivery zones. Your branch's delivery zone and the courier's coverage both need to fit the destination.
- Get the quote before booking. Careem Express supports estimates and distance checks. TopDeliver supports live and pre-order estimations. Nashmi supports multi-branch quotes.
- Speak to the kitchen, then book from the order. Food still on the grill needs a different handoff conversation from bags waiting at the pass.
- Look for the booking confirmation and follow its updates. If you need another driver, check whether the first booking is still active before making a replacement.
Careem Express and Nashmi support multi-branch quotes to assess dispatch from different branches within the same provider. To compare courier companies, review each provider's quote separately, along with its coverage and terms. Keep the pickup branch consistent when comparing costs for the same order.
When should you use each courier or your own drivers?
Start with the collection address and delivery destination. Nexara's quoting and tracking support differs by partner. Check the quote for the order and confirm collection availability with the provider. Choose based on the actual booking conditions rather than the length of a feature list.
| Dispatch option | What you can do in Nexara | When to consider it |
|---|---|---|
| Careem Express | Get estimates, check delivery distance, request multi-branch quotes, create and cancel deliveries, and follow tracking updates. | When its coverage and quoted charge fit the order, especially if you need quotes from different pickup branches. |
| TopDeliver | Check areas, connect branches, get live and pre-order estimates, book and cancel deliveries, and review tracking and logs. | When its areas cover your customers and you need estimates for immediate orders or pre-orders. |
| Nashmi | Connect branches, request multi-branch quotes, book and cancel deliveries, and receive updates including driver location. | When its service covers your branches and driver-location updates help your dispatcher follow deliveries. |
| Your own drivers | Use own-fleet delivery support and a driver role. | When a driver is available and your team can manage collection and handoff directly. |
Your own driver may be the better choice for a familiar nearby address. A courier partner may suit an order when your drivers are out. Check availability before promising the customer a collection time, and give the kitchen the agreed handoff details.
For your own fleet, test Nexara's driver-role workflow during setup. Nexara supports that workflow, but does not provide a dedicated driver app, route sequencing or continuous GPS tracking of your drivers.
Which fees should you compare?
Separate the software subscription from delivery costs. Nexara has a free plan plus paid plans per branch in JOD, with current rates on request. Growth allows 1 delivery provider and Pro allows unlimited delivery providers. Free and Starter include none.
Start with the provider's estimate or quote, then check what your agreement covers. Ask how the provider handles a cancelled booking or a delivery the customer cannot receive, and which circumstances can change the final charge.
- Courier charge: compare what the courier charges your restaurant, not a separate checkout fee. Check whether waiting, cancellation or an unsuccessful delivery can add charges under your agreement.
- Restaurant-paid delivery: if you advertise free delivery, include the courier's charge in your cost calculation. The customer paying nothing for transport does not make the trip free.
- Own-fleet cost: include driver pay and vehicle running costs, including paid time between deliveries.
- Order-source commission: Talabat and Careem retain their own commission arrangements on the orders they bring. Keep those charges separate from delivery costs for your own orders.
A cheaper quote may not be the better choice if a failed collection means replacing food. Nexara provides provider analytics and a Delivery report tab. Use those when reviewing dispatch, and check courier invoices against your agreement separately.
What can you track, and what happens when updates stop?
Nexara receives delivery updates from courier providers. Nashmi's updates can include driver location. Careem Express and TopDeliver support tracking and automatic delivery updates. Nexara also provides a customer-facing order tracking link.
Show staff the difference between an order's status and a courier's location. Nexara's order statuses include ready for pickup, out for delivery and delivered. The live order board guide explains the shared branch order list. Courier tracking shows the information the provider sends; Nexara does not calculate arrival times. Staff can check provider health information and delivery-update logs when a booking stops updating.
Check the existing booking before creating another delivery. If its status remains unclear, call the provider and ask whether a driver is coming. Check cancellation terms before replacing the booking. Let the same dispatcher handle the replacement so two people do not send two drivers for one bag.
What should you confirm before the first dispatch?
Check the connection for each branch that will hand over food. TopDeliver and Nashmi support branch connection. Careem Express supports distance checks and multi-branch quotes. Make sure the pickup address points to the kitchen handing over the order.
Walk through an order with the dispatcher. Have them request a quote and find the booking confirmation, then review the cancellation procedure. For your own drivers, write down who assigns the delivery and who confirms collection. Test Nexara's driver role against that handoff procedure before the shift depends on it.
Nexara's dashboard and courier booking need an internet connection. Keep a phone hotspot available and record the courier's contact details somewhere staff can reach without the dashboard. During a branch outage, incoming orders are saved and waiting tickets print when the connection returns.
What to remember
- Talabat and Careem intake brings aggregator orders; dispatch moves your own orders out.
- Book against the correct branch and address, then check the existing delivery before arranging a replacement.
- Commission-free ordering does not remove courier charges or own-fleet costs.
- Keep one dispatcher responsible for stalled bookings and replacement collections.
Questions people ask
Can I cancel a courier after booking?
Nexara supports cancellation for Careem Express, TopDeliver and Nashmi dispatch. Check the booking's status and the provider's cancellation terms before arranging a replacement, because cancellation may carry a charge.
What if the courier never accepts the booking?
Check the booking status and contact the provider before requesting another driver. Have your dispatcher confirm whether the first booking needs cancelling, then arrange another collection and tell the kitchen.
Can I keep using my own restaurant drivers?
Yes. Nexara supports own-fleet delivery and has a driver role. During setup, test who assigns the delivery and how your team confirms collection.
Does commission-free ordering include free delivery?
No. Nexara charges no commission on your own website, app and call-center orders, but courier charges or your own fleet costs remain separate.
Can Nexara automatically choose the cheapest courier?
Nexara supports provider-specific estimates and quotes; it does not offer automatic cheapest-courier selection or a shared cross-provider price-comparison screen. Review each provider's quote separately.
Which Nexara plan includes courier dispatch?
Growth allows 1 delivery provider, while Pro allows unlimited delivery providers. Free and Starter include none. Current paid-plan rates per branch in JOD are available on request.
