Live in one day: how a Nexara onboarding actually goes

If you are opening your ordering link before lunch, your cook needs a readable ticket before customers start tapping. Use the morning to prove the order reaches the right branch and printer.

Day one, from menu to first order

Your restaurant can have an ordering link the day you sign up with Nexara, the restaurant order and operations platform built in Amman, Jordan. Kitchen printing usually starts that day; Talabat and Careem activation depends on partner approval. Start with SMS signup, then check your menu and branch settings before testing an order.

Figures in this post are illustrative examples, not a client's actual results.

What does “live in one day” actually include?

If you searched for restaurant POS setup time, Nexara handles the order and operations work beside your till. Going live means a customer can order through your link and your team can handle that order. If the kitchen will rely on printed tickets, a physical printer test belongs in that opening decision.

Separate your own ordering launch from external services. Online card checkout uses HyperPay when your company enables it. Cash on pickup gives you an ordering flow to test while card-payment setup is being completed.

Bring the approved menu and printer connection details. Make sure someone can approve menu corrections during setup. If a check fails, fix it before publishing the link, even if that changes the afternoon schedule.

09:00: How do signup and menu loading work?

The self-serve entry point uses your phone number and a one-time SMS code. Signup requires neither a payment card nor commercial registration. Opening the account is the short part. Checking the menu takes more attention.

Nexara supports products, categories, modifiers and modifier groups. Enter the menu you intend to sell at launch, including the choices staff normally explain over the phone. Check that each modifier appears against the correct item and carries the approved extra charge.

  • Compare each selling price with the approved menu, rather than an old delivery-app screenshot.
  • Check Arabic and English item names wherever you use both languages.
  • Review required choices and extras from the customer's view.
  • Leave products that are not ready to sell unavailable at the relevant branch.

The branded ordering site is generated from your menu, with theme colours taken from your uploaded logo. Open it on a phone and check the item pages. The Nexara feature overview explains the menu and ordering tools available for the rest of setup.

10:00: What needs checking for each branch?

Nexara has a live order queue per branch, per-branch product availability and user-to-branch assignments. Check the menu from the launch branch's customer view, then sign in with that branch's staff account to check access.

Review which menus appear on each channel. Change an unavailable product at the branch and check the customer-facing menu again. For a chain, repeat this at each launch branch: a successful test in one kitchen only verifies that kitchen's setup.

Choose the order types you will accept initially. Nexara supports delivery, pickup and dine-in. Table QR ordering requires dine-in to be enabled at the branch and a plan that includes it. If delivery arrangements are unfinished, test pickup first.

For marketplace intake, check that each Talabat and Careem outlet matches the intended Nexara branch and that catalogue items match. The Talabat and Careem order intake page explains those connections.

11:00: How do you prove the printers are ready?

Install Nexara Printing on the branch computer. It supports standard ESC/POS thermal printers over USB or network, with Windows as the primary platform. Check your actual printer model and connection before planning around existing hardware.

Confirm that your chosen plan includes kitchen printing and covers the printers needed at the branch. An ordering-site test and a kitchen-printing test have different acceptance checks.

  1. Connect Nexara Printing to the intended USB or network printer.
  2. Check category routing so kitchen items reach the correct preparation station.
  3. Print a ticket containing Arabic item names and modifiers, plus English if your team uses it.
  4. Read the physical ticket at the preparation station. Check the item choices, not merely whether paper came out.

Nexara prints Arabic item names legibly on ordinary ESC/POS thermal printers, with English available on the same ticket. Printer-specific templates and category routing let you choose what each station receives. The thermal printer compatibility guide covers the hardware check.

Orders keep arriving in the cloud queue during a local connection outage, and printing catches up after reconnection; the order board itself needs internet access. Keep a phone hotspot beside the printer computer as a connection backup. The Nexara operating FAQ covers printer interruptions and recovery.

12:00 to 13:00: Can the team handle the first order?

Assign staff to their branches and check permissions before practice. Nexara has roles including cashier, waiter and branch manager. Each person should practise through their assigned access, rather than watching the owner demonstrate everything.

Use the channel you plan to release first. For website pickup, place a test order from a phone, complete customer phone verification and select cash on pickup.

Follow the pickup order from the customer's phone to the kitchen ticket and staff handover.

  1. Choose an item with a modifier so the test checks more than a plain product name.
  2. Confirm that the order appears in the intended branch's Live Orders queue.
  3. Match the physical kitchen ticket against the order, including the modifier.
  4. Have the responsible staff member move the order through preparation and pickup statuses.
  5. Find the order in Order History and check its recorded details.

If phone ordering is part of launch, practise it separately. The Call Center screen retrieves saved addresses and past orders by phone number and requires a plan that includes call-center access. Use the Nexara demo to preview the screens before staff practice.

14:00: What can you finish yourself, and what waits?

You can complete SMS signup and work through the menu and ordering-site setup yourself. Nexara's in-app wiki covers menu management and printing, among other operating tasks. Use it alongside the physical checks at your branch.

Before publishing the link, write down anything unresolved and who will handle it. A custom domain needs verification. A wrong modifier needs a menu correction. A ticket arriving at the wrong station needs its category routing checked.

Nexara has a free plan with a small product cap, then paid plans per branch in Jordanian dinar; current rates are available on request. Match the plan to your opening menu and required operating features before launch.

Inventory costing and timed workflows need separate checks after the opening order flow works. Put that work into the 14-day trial checklist.

What to remember

  • An ordering link can go live on signup day; kitchen printing usually starts the same day.
  • Let completed tests, rather than the illustrative hourly schedule, decide readiness.
  • Check each branch's routing and a physical Arabic ticket before publishing its link.
  • Keep Talabat and Careem approval separate from your own-channel launch.
