Restaurant ordering software in the UAE: what fits your kitchen?

Do you need a new till or better order handling?

A search for restaurant POS Dubai brings together two different buying decisions. One concerns checkout and the till. The other concerns how an order reaches the right branch and becomes a readable kitchen ticket. Replacing the first does not automatically fix the second.

Nexara sits beside the till as the order and operations layer. Its live order board brings phone, website, installable app, table QR, Talabat and Careem orders into one queue per branch, with partner channels subject to activation. It supports delivery, pickup and dine-in orders. It is not a cash register.

Start by tracing an order through your current setup. Where does someone retype it? Where does a modifier disappear? Who notices a cancellation? If checkout works but intake is messy, assess an order layer before replacing the till. Do not assume that sitting beside your till means a ready-made connection to its software.

Does Nexara work in Dubai or Abu Dhabi today?

Nexara is built in Amman, Jordan, and its live deployments are in Jordan today. The platform runs anywhere with a browser and the Windows print agent. That makes a UAE evaluation possible, but it does not establish a UAE customer base or guarantee that every external service can be activated for your restaurant.

Separate access to the software from approval to connect a provider. A working dashboard is not proof that your Dubai Talabat outlet is connected. An Arabic ticket printed during a demonstration is not proof that online payments are approved for your UAE business.

• Confirm your city and the legal business that holds each delivery-platform account.
• Request written confirmation of the channels that can be activated in your market.
• Test your printer model through the Windows print agent before changing kitchen procedures.
• Agree who handles launch problems and what support hours cover your service.

What must you verify for Talabat and Careem?

Talabat and Careem both operate in the UAE. Nexara has dedicated API integrations for their food orders, but activation is per market and subject to partner approval. Ask about activation in your market before making either connection a condition of your opening date.

Careem food-order intake and Careem Express dispatch are different connections. Receiving an order from Careem does not mean a courier has been booked for an order placed on your own website. Treat them as separate requirements in the evaluation.

Nexara charges no commission on orders from your own website, app or call center. Talabat and Careem retain their own commercial terms for orders they bring; payment processing and delivery costs are separate. The Talabat and Careem order intake guide explains the order-layer distinction.

Can the kitchen read Arabic and English on the same ticket?

Nexara supports Arabic and English in the dashboard and storefront, and both languages can appear on the same printed ticket. For a mixed-language kitchen, test the actual item names and modifiers your cooks use. A translated settings menu tells you little about what comes out of the printer.

The print agent renders Arabic text as images before sending it to standard ESC/POS thermal printers over USB or network. That mechanism preserves connected Arabic lettering rather than depending on the printer's built-in Arabic fonts. Tickets can be routed by product category, with templates assigned per printer.

1. Print an order containing Arabic item names, English text and several modifiers. Have the cook read it without help from the cashier.
2. Send food and drinks together. Check that category routing sends each item to the intended printer.
3. Disconnect the branch connection, then reconnect it. Check the queued ticket and the recovery procedure.
4. Make a printer unavailable. Test manual rerouting, or backup-printer failover where configured.

Orders can continue arriving in the cloud queue during a branch connection outage, and printing catches up after reconnection. The order board itself needs internet access. Keep a phone hotspot available near the printer PC. Nexara uses printed kitchen tickets; it does not offer kitchen display screens today.

When are Sapaad, Foodics or Oracle Micros the better pick?

Sapaad, Foodics and Oracle Micros are established options in the UAE. They belong on a shortlist when you need a till replacement. Nexara belongs in a different part of the evaluation: order intake and operations beside the till. Compare the proposed setup, not a page of feature checkmarks.

If you need established UAE deployment evidence from the vendor, Nexara cannot offer that today. If you need accounting or ERP connectors, Nexara does not offer those today either. Its available tools include menu management and inventory costing, but those should not be mistaken for a connection to your finance software.

What should a UAE evaluation and quote include?

Nexara offers a free plan plus paid plans per branch in JOD, with current rates on request. Pricing is in Jordanian dinar today. Request a written quote for the functions you need; the free plan is not a full kitchen-printing package.

Make the evaluation end with evidence: an approved channel connection, a correctly routed bilingual ticket and a tested recovery procedure. Use your own menu. Include an unavailable item and a cancellation rather than accepting only a successful basic order.

Keep payment approval and UAE tax requirements on a separate checklist. Nexara supports online card payments through HyperPay when enabled, but do not infer UAE merchant approval from that capability. Have your accountant check the intended checkout and receipt process against your business requirements.

A useful purchasing record states which system takes each order, which system handles checkout and who resolves a failed connection. Leave no required channel marked simply as supported: record whether it has been approved and tested for your outlet.
