Talabat POS integration: kitchen orders without retyping

The Talabat order is already on the tablet, but someone still has to type it into a second screen before the kitchen can cook it. That handoff is what this integration removes.

From Talabat order to kitchen ticket

Nexara puts Talabat orders on your board and kitchen printer without retyping. The restaurant order and operations platform, built in Amman, Jordan, sits beside your till. Activation needs Talabat partner approval. Start by messaging the founder on WhatsApp to review your outlet mapping and printer.

What does Talabat POS integration actually connect?

With Nexara, orders reach the branch board and the configured kitchen printer. Your cashier continues using the till for its existing role. The connection removes the manual entry between receiving a Talabat order and sending its items to the kitchen.

Through Talabat's partner integration, Nexara receives new orders and cancellations, matches each outlet to its branch, and sends supported status updates back to Talabat. Staff work from the branch board rather than entering the same order again. Catalogue fetching and pushing are also supported, with SKU mapping; the menu checks below establish what transfers for your outlet.

At close, the cashier records the day's net sale in Nexara for reconciliation. Include that step in the cashier's closing procedure. The Talabat and Careem order intake overview separates incoming marketplace orders from dispatching your own deliveries.

What happens to a Talabat order in Nexara?

The useful way to judge the connection is to follow an order from arrival to paper. Nexara brings Talabat orders into the same live queue per branch as Careem, phone, website, app and table QR orders. Open dashboard screens update as orders arrive and their statuses change.

StageWhat Nexara doesWhat to check before launch
Order arrivesReceives the order through Talabat's partner integration. The test order appears in Nexara without manual entry.
Outlet is matchedUses outlet mapping to connect the provider outlet with the branch. The order belongs to the branch that will prepare it.
Order joins the boardPlaces the order in the branch's shared live queue.Staff can find it alongside orders from other connected channels.
Ticket is routedUses configured printer routing, including product-category rules. The correct kitchen printer receives the relevant items.
Status changesSends the status updates Talabat supports for the outlet. The tested update is reflected on the provider side.
Cancellation arrivesProcesses inbound cancellations from Talabat.Staff know how to handle food already in preparation.

The shared board has preparation and delivery statuses. During the outlet trial, test the Talabat updates your team will use during service. An inbound cancellation cannot pull a printed ticket out of a cook's hand, so assign someone to tell the kitchen when to stop preparing a cancelled order.

Order History provides search and filters when you need to find an earlier order. The Live Order Board guide explains the shared queue in more detail.

How do Talabat orders print in the kitchen?

Nexara Printing runs on the branch's Windows PC. Configure branch routing to send Talabat tickets to the same kitchen printer as your other orders. Check the ticket on the printer staff will use during service.

Each printer prints the menu categories enabled for it. For a drinks station, enable the drinks category and check that food items go to the kitchen printer instead. Review these settings whenever you move a category to a different station.

Arabic item names and modifiers print on supported ESC/POS printers; verify on your model with a longer item name. The same ticket can also carry English. Templates are assigned per printer, so check the layout at each station and make sure wrapped names and modifier choices remain readable.

What does Talabat menu sync cover?

Order intake and menu synchronisation are separate parts of the integration. Nexara supports Talabat catalogue fetching and pushing, SKU mapping, outlet mapping and reconciliation. A SKU is an item identifier. Mapping connects the provider's identifiers with the products used in your restaurant's catalogue.

Nexara's menu tools include products, categories, modifiers and modifier groups, plus per-branch availability and channel-specific menus. Confirm the fields transferred to Talabat and the timing of those changes for your outlet.

  • Check which existing Talabat products are fetched and how their SKUs map to Nexara products.
  • Confirm how new products are pushed and which fields are included for your outlet.
  • Test a product with modifiers so the ordered choices can be checked on the kitchen ticket.
  • Confirm how price and availability changes reach Talabat, including any approval or timing requirements.

Ask for the exact edit you make during service to be demonstrated. Change an item, then inspect the result on Talabat. Check the ordered modifier on the printed ticket too. Order intake and catalogue changes need separate tests. Treat the two checks separately and record each result.

What happens if the connection or printer fails?

Orders keep arriving in the cloud queue while the branch connection is down, and printing catches up when connectivity returns; the live board requires internet. Keep a phone hotspot available for the printer PC so staff have a backup connection.

If a printer fails, the order stays on the board and the ticket waits in a queue. You can re-route that printer's categories from the dashboard, or use automatic failover where a backup printer is configured. Check that the alternative printer has paper and that staff know where to collect its tickets.

A ticket Nexara has printed will not be reprinted automatically, even if the print app restarts. Staff can still request a manual reprint when they need another ticket. During recovery, check the waiting tickets before requesting extra copies for the kitchen.

Before launch, include a controlled disconnection and recovery test. Check where the waiting ticket is visible and who can re-route it, then verify the printed result after reconnection. The printing and connectivity FAQ explains how waiting tickets and recovery work.

What should you confirm before switching off retyping?

Getting your Nexara ordering website online and activating Talabat are separate steps. Keep the existing intake procedure until the connected workflow has passed a branch test. Run it with the person who will watch the board during service, using the printer the kitchen will actually use.

  1. Confirm the Talabat activation status and the outlet mapped to each branch.
  2. Review product mappings, then place a test order with modifiers and check the printed result.
  3. Check a supported outbound status update and an inbound cancellation.
  4. Verify printer routing and recovery, including the backup printer if one is configured.
  5. Write down who watches the board and what staff do when printing is delayed.

Send your Talabat outlet details and kitchen printer model to Issa Al-Dalu, Nexara's founder, using the WhatsApp button below. He will review activation and printing requirements with you. Nexara's website is nexaratech.io.

Nexara has a free plan plus paid plans per branch in JOD, with current rates on request; kitchen printing requires a printing-enabled plan.
