How to build your menu once and publish it everywhere

It is Friday night, you are on the kitchen line, and a ticket arrives for an item this branch ran out of an hour ago. You changed the menu, but the person taking phone orders was still reading the old one.

How to build your menu once and publish it everywhere

Nexara gives you one menu across ordering channels as a restaurant order and operations platform built in Amman, Jordan. Build categories, products, prices, modifiers and branch availability once. Talabat and Careem catalogue publishing requires per-market activation and partner approval. Start with your own website, installable app, call center or table QR, according to your plan.

What should the single menu contain?

  • Categories such as sandwiches or hot drinks.
  • Products with Arabic and English names, plus the current selling price.
  • Modifier groups for choices such as size or sauce.
  • Add-ons for extras that change the order and its price.
  • Product images prepared for the branded website and installable app.
  • Branch availability for items sold at one location but paused at another.
  • Channel visibility for menus that should appear on selected ordering channels.

Nexara's Products & Menus area includes menu lists and a visual menu builder. Use one product record as the reference when checking a price or preparation choice, rather than maintaining a separate copy for each ordering channel.

A customer may browse in English while the kitchen reads Arabic. Nexara supports an Arabic and English dashboard and storefront, plus Arabic thermal printing with English on the same ticket. Prepare wording the kitchen recognises, particularly for modifiers that change how an item is made.

How do you build categories and products?

  1. Group the menu by the way guests choose food. Use recognisable categories such as sandwiches or hot drinks.
  2. Create each product once and enter its selling price. Prepare Arabic and English names and the matching product image for the storefront review.
  3. Organise products using menu lists and the visual menu builder. Review the order in which guests encounter categories and items.
  4. Attach modifier groups to the relevant products. Identify which choices the guest needs to make, such as selecting a size.
  5. Keep optional paid extras distinct from the base product. Check that their names tell the guest exactly what they are adding.
  6. Open the customer-facing menu on a phone. Compare it with your approved menu, paying particular attention to similar product names and prices.

The Free plan allows 20 products; paid plans allow unlimited products. Count the actual products you intend to sell before entering the whole menu. Review modifier groups separately so preparation choices do not become unnecessary duplicate products.

How should modifiers and add-ons be set up?

Nexara supports modifiers and modifier groups. Build each group around a decision the customer makes: a size group answers a different question from an extras group. Put paid choices in the relevant group and check the total before placing a test order.

  • Use one group for one type of choice.
  • Identify required preparation choices separately from optional extras during your menu review.
  • Use matching Arabic and English wording for each modifier.
  • Check that an extra belongs only to products that can actually include it.
  • Ask a phone-order agent to find the common choices without relying on a separate paper menu.

Arabic item and modifier names can appear on kitchen tickets, with English on the same printout. Test an order with a paid extra and a preparation choice. Compare what the guest selected with what the cook can read, including whether the extra belongs to the correct item.

For more detail on organising choices, see menu modifiers and add-ons. Resolve unclear names before copying the same group across several products; otherwise the same ambiguity follows every order that uses it.

How do prices and branch availability stay correct?

Set the base price on the product and the additional price on paid modifiers or add-ons. Nexara supports per-branch availability, so a branch can pause an item without removing it from the wider catalogue. A sold-out item at one location does not require a new menu for the whole restaurant.

  1. Compare the base price with your approved selling price.
  2. Check each paid modifier and add-on against the current menu.
  3. Make products available at the branches that can prepare them.
  4. Pause an item at a branch when stock or preparation capacity changes.
  5. Review which channels should display each menu.
  6. Place a test order for the branch being checked and compare the customer view with the ticket.

A price change is made once in the shared catalogue and changes across the channels that use that menu. Channel selection controls which menu a channel sees; branch availability controls where an item can be ordered. Check both when an item appears in the wrong place.

Nexara does not offer Jahez or DHUB integrations today. For the branch-level checks within Nexara, use how to set branch availability.

How does one menu reach every channel?

The shared menu supplies enabled ordering channels, and their orders reach the branch board and kitchen printer.

Nexara generates the branded website from the menu, and customers can install that website as an app from their browser. The call-center order screen uses the restaurant catalogue alongside the caller's saved addresses and past orders after a phone lookup. At tables, guests scan a QR code and order from their phones.

Website, app, call-center, table QR and activated marketplace orders arrive on one live order board per branch. Table orders print with the table number. Nexara sits beside the till as the order and operations layer, giving the branch a common place to handle incoming orders.

Read one menu for every channel for the operating model, or review Nexara features when deciding which channels your branch needs.

What should you check before publishing?

  • Open the menu on a phone and read both language versions.
  • Check the base price and the total after adding paid options.
  • Test the preparation choices your kitchen needs on every order.
  • Compare product images with the food customers will receive.
  • Review availability at each branch.
  • Check menu visibility on each enabled channel.
  • Compare a test order across the customer view, branch order board and kitchen ticket.

Nexara works with standard ESC/POS thermal printers over USB or network. If a printer is unavailable, the order remains on the board and the ticket waits in the print queue. Staff can re-route that printer's categories from the dashboard, or use automatic failover where a backup printer is configured.

QR dine-in starts on Growth, which includes one printer; call-center ordering requires Pro, which allows unlimited printers. Free and Starter have no printers. Match the plan to the channels and printed tickets you intend to test.

Tap the WhatsApp link with your menu to start a Nexara setup review: founder Issa Al-Dalu replies to discuss your menu and channel needs, with current rates for nexaratech.io's free plan and paid plans per branch in Jordanian dinar available on request.

What to remember

  • Build products, prices and modifier groups in one catalogue.
  • Use per-branch availability to control where items can be ordered.
  • Check channel visibility separately from branch availability.
  • Compare the customer selection with the Nexara order board and printed kitchen ticket.

Can the person taking phone orders use the same menu?

Yes. The call-center screen uses the restaurant catalogue and shows saved customer details after a phone lookup.

Can different branches sell different items?

Do modifiers and add-ons print in the kitchen?

Yes. Selected modifiers and extras are part of the order and can appear on the kitchen ticket, with Arabic and English names on the same printout.

Will a table order show which table it came from?
