From Instagram DMs to a real ordering link
The customer sends a screenshot, changes the drink, then sends the address in another DM. Meanwhile, the kitchen is waiting for the order.

Put a branded ordering link in your Instagram bio so customers select items and complete checkout on your website. Nexara, a restaurant order and operations platform built in Amman, Jordan, supports phone OTP verification, cash payments and HyperPay card checkout when enabled. Kitchen printing requires Growth (1 printer) or Pro (unlimited printers), with a configured desktop print agent.
What makes an ordering link different from a menu link?
A menu image tells someone what you sell. An ordering link lets them choose products and submit an order. That distinction matters when you are making coffee or packing food: opening the menu should not end with another message asking you to write everything down.
Nexara generates a branded storefront from your menu, with theme colours drawn from your uploaded logo. It supports Arabic and English. Submitted website orders enter the branch's live order queue, so the person preparing the order does not need to work from an Instagram conversation.
This is a link from Instagram to your own website checkout, not checkout inside Instagram. The workflow does not convert existing DMs into orders automatically. Customers follow the link and place the order themselves. Keep messages for questions that need a conversation.
Nexara sits beside the till as the order and operations layer. It is not a cash register. The guide to a restaurant ordering website in Jordan explains the wider setup beyond your Instagram profile.
How should a café or home kitchen prepare its menu?
Build the menu around decisions a customer can make without asking you. Nexara supports products, categories, modifiers and modifier groups. Use those controls for choices such as drink size or an extra ingredient, rather than expecting customers to explain every variation in a message.
- Use recognisable product names. A customer should be able to match an Instagram photo to the item on your storefront.
- Set the correct price for each product and any priced extras. Check the completed basket, not only the menu listing.
- Organise choices into modifier groups where appropriate, so staff receive the selected variation with the order.
- Review branch availability before sharing the link. Nexara has per-branch availability controls; use them when an item cannot be sold.
For a home kitchen, separate ordinary menu orders from requests that need discussion. A custom celebration cake may still require a conversation before you accept it. Do not make the ordering page appear to promise a preparation time or service you have not arranged.
The free plan supports 20 products. That is a product limit, not a recommendation to list everything you have ever made. Start with the menu you can fulfil consistently, then expand when your preparation routine supports it.
Which payment methods work at checkout?
Nexara's storefront checkout includes customer phone verification by a one-time SMS code. Customers can choose cash on delivery or pickup. Online card payment is available through HyperPay when enabled for the company. Do not publish card-payment instructions before that setup is ready.
| Method or check | What is available today | What to tell customers |
|---|---|---|
| Phone OTP | A one-time SMS code verifies the customer's phone at checkout. | Keep your phone nearby to complete verification. |
| Cash | Cash on delivery or pickup is a storefront payment method. | Choose cash and pay when receiving or collecting the order. |
| Online card | HyperPay card checkout is available when the company enables it. | Use the card option when it appears at checkout. |
| CliQ | CliQ is not a storefront checkout method. | Do not expect a CliQ option on the ordering website. |
CliQ does have a role elsewhere in Nexara: owners can pay their subscription by transfer, and the call-center order screen has a CliQ payment choice. Neither makes CliQ available at website checkout. The call center is a Pro-plan feature.
Phone verification is not payment confirmation. Likewise, a cash order is not prepaid because it has reached the board. Give the person handing out orders a clear procedure for checking payment status before collection or dispatch.
How do you move regular customers away from DMs?
Change the route customers use, without pretending your inbox no longer exists. Put the direct storefront URL in your Instagram bio and make its purpose explicit. A label such as “Order for pickup or delivery” is clearer than “Our website”, provided you actually offer both services.
- Open the storefront from your own Instagram profile on a phone. Check that the link reaches the ordering site rather than a menu image or unrelated homepage.
- Explain the change in a post or story: customers now choose their items and complete checkout through the link in your bio.
- Prepare a short reply for order enquiries: “Please place your order through the link in our bio so the kitchen receives your selected items.”
- For a conversation already underway, agree whether the customer will submit the website order before staff prepare anything. Avoid recording the same request twice.
- Keep answering questions about the food. Redirect the actual order entry to the storefront instead of asking customers to repeat it in chat.
Returning customers can also install the Nexara storefront as an app from their browser. It is a progressive web app, not an App Store or Google Play download. The installable ordering app and custom domain guide explains that option.
What happens between checkout and the kitchen printer?
Website orders arrive on Nexara's live order board for the branch. Open dashboard screens receive live updates. With printing configured on Growth or Pro, tickets go through the branch's desktop print agent to standard ESC/POS thermal printers over USB or network.
Arabic printing uses rendered images for Arabic text rather than depending on the printer having suitable Arabic fonts. Tickets can include English too. Printer routing can follow product categories, so a café can route drinks to a bar printer where its plan and setup permit.
Printing is not included on Free or Starter. Growth allows 1 printer; Pro allows unlimited printers.
If the branch loses its internet connection, orders keep arriving in the cloud queue. Printing catches up after reconnection. The order board itself needs a connection, so keep a phone hotspot available near the printer PC. If a printer fails, its ticket waits in the queue; staff can reroute categories from the dashboard or use a configured backup printer.
What should you check before publishing the link?
Nexara has a free plan plus paid plans per branch in JOD, with current rates on request. Free includes a Nexara subdomain and a “Powered by Nexara” badge, with website orders capped at 30 a month. Custom domains start on Starter. Printing starts on Growth.
- Complete checkout on a phone, including the SMS code, and check the selected items on the live board.
- Test the payment methods you intend to advertise. If card payment is not enabled, do not describe the site as accepting cards.
- Print a ticket with Arabic item names and modifiers if printing is part of your setup.
- Assign someone to monitor incoming orders and decide who starts preparation or handles a cancellation.
Opening a Nexara account requires a phone number and an SMS code, with no card or commercial registration required for signup. That signup requirement does not replace any licensing obligations for operating a café or home kitchen in Jordan.

What to remember
- Use Instagram to bring customers to a checkout page, rather than keeping the order itself in DMs.
- Offer cash or enabled HyperPay card checkout. Do not advertise CliQ as a storefront payment method.
- Kitchen printing requires Growth or Pro and a configured desktop print agent.
Questions people ask
Can I take Instagram orders without building a website myself?
Yes. Nexara generates an ordering storefront from your menu, and you put its link in your Instagram bio. Customers submit orders on that storefront rather than through DMs.
Is there checkout inside Instagram?
Not in this Nexara workflow. Customers follow your Instagram link to website checkout; Nexara does not provide native Instagram checkout or automatically import your DMs.
Can customers pay by CliQ through the ordering link?
No. Storefront checkout supports cash on delivery or pickup, plus online card payment through HyperPay when enabled. CliQ is available for subscription billing and as a call-center payment choice, not storefront checkout.
Will my Instagram orders print on the free plan?
No. Free and Starter do not include printers. Growth supports 1 printer, and Pro supports unlimited printers through the branch print agent.
Do customers receive WhatsApp order notifications?
Nexara does not send WhatsApp order notifications today. It provides a customer-facing order tracking link; its WhatsApp tool is a conversation inbox for call-center roles.
Do customers have to install an app to order?
No. They can order through the storefront in their browser. Installing the site as a progressive web app is optional.
