Home Kitchens in Jordan Deserve Better Order Tools

A home kitchen can produce excellent food and still lose orders in Instagram messages, missed calls and notebooks. The problem is operational, not a lack of ambition.

Home Kitchens in Jordan Deserve Better Order Tools

Nexara is a restaurant order and operations platform built in Amman, Jordan, for restaurants and multi-branch chains. For a home kitchen, it provides a branded ordering page, order records, customer details and one place for website, phone and delivery orders. The free plan allows 20 products and 30 website or QR orders monthly; paid plans add capacity.

Figures in this post are illustrative examples, not a client's actual results.

What does a home food business need first?

Start with the parts that prevent confusion. A home-based food business in Jordan usually needs a menu customers can read, a clear way to place an order, a record of what was ordered, and a payment instruction that does not depend on finding an old Instagram message.

  • A branded ordering page with products, prices, options and availability.
  • A searchable order history, so you can check a customer's previous order instead of asking them to repeat it.
  • Customer records with phone numbers, addresses and order history.
  • A phone-order process that shows saved addresses and past orders when the caller's number is entered.
  • A practical payment path, such as cash on delivery, pickup payment, online card payment or a CliQ payment link for phone orders.
  • A simple record of daily sales and operations as the kitchen grows.

Nexara is built in Amman and its live deployments are in Jordan today. It is the order and operations layer beside the till, not a cash register. The cashier can still record the day's net sale at close for reconciliation, while orders from the restaurant's own channels arrive in one live order board.

Instagram is useful for discovery, but it is a weak place to manage an order. A customer can comment on a post, send a direct message, call your phone and then change an item. A proper ordering page gives each channel one readable menu and gives you an order record.

Can Instagram become an ordering page?

Yes. Keep Instagram as the place where people discover the food, then send them to one ordering link in the bio. Nexara Website creates a branded storefront from your menu. It can run on a Nexara subdomain, and paid plans can use a custom domain. The page is also installable from the browser as an app, without an app-store download.

The customer sees the menu, selects items and options, enters a phone number and chooses an available payment method. Your own website and app orders carry 0% commission. Storefront checkout supports cash on delivery or pickup, card payment through HyperPay when enabled, and pay at the counter for dine-in. CliQ is not a storefront checkout method.

For the practical setup, read the guide on Instagram bio link ordering. The useful change is one link, one menu and one order path.

What is free, and where does it stop?

Nexara has a free plan with no card required, no automatic renewal and one branch. It is suitable for testing a menu and accepting a modest number of direct orders. It is not an unlimited free system.

The free plan can cover a small menu with up to 20 products and up to 30 website or QR orders each month. If your menu has more items, or if direct orders exceed that cap, you need a paid plan. Nexara's paid plans are priced per branch in Jordanian dinar. Current rates are available on request.

There are other free tools for menus, forms and spreadsheets. They may help at the beginning, but check whether they keep customer history, handle phone orders, show order status and give you a branded ordering path. A free tool that forces you to copy every order into another notebook can create work rather than remove it.

How should phone orders and CliQ work?

Phone orders deserve the same discipline as website orders. On Nexara's paid call center feature, the agent enters the caller's phone number and sees saved addresses and past orders. The order is then placed from the call screen, with payment choices that include a CliQ option stored as an online payment choice.

For a home kitchen, this means you can answer a repeat customer without rebuilding their details from memory. It also gives you a record when the customer calls about a missing item or wants to repeat last week's order.

CliQ is useful for payment links sent during phone ordering and for paying a Nexara subscription. It does not appear as a payment option at the public storefront checkout. Use the CliQ payment link guide when you need to request payment from a caller.

What changes when the kitchen grows?

Start by checking menu control. Nexara supports product availability by branch, so an unavailable item can be switched off where it is not being prepared. Inventory and costing cover ingredients, recipes, waste tracking and food-cost analysis.

Customer feedback, complaint cases and report tabs cover orders, products, customers, channels, delivery, money and operations. The dashboard and storefront support Arabic and English.

If you add branches, Nexara supports branch management. The plan limits are 1 branch on Free and Starter, 3 on Growth and 5 on Pro.

Kitchen printing is available on standard ESC/POS thermal printers. Arabic and English can appear on the same ticket. Tickets wait in the branch queue and print once when the printer answers. A home kitchen that is still cooking alone may not need a printer on day one.

Nexara receives Talabat and Careem orders where partner activation is available. Their commissions are commonly quoted at 25% to 30% in Jordan. The restaurant's website, installable app and call-center orders carry 0% commission.

Nexara does not provide JoFotara e-invoicing, WhatsApp order notifications, a loyalty programme, staff scheduling, accounting connectors, reservations or an offline cash register.

How do you choose without disrespecting the business?

A home kitchen is a business because it sells food, takes responsibility for orders and serves customers. Choose tools that record the work at the point where it happens.

  1. Write the menu with exact prices, portions, options and availability.
  2. Put the ordering link in the Instagram bio and any other public profile.
  3. Decide which orders need cash, card or a phone-order payment link.
  4. Keep customer records and order history in one place.
  5. Review the free-plan limits before publishing the link widely.
  6. Move to a paid per-branch plan when the menu or order volume needs it.

The numbers below are an illustrative example, not a client's actual figures. A home kitchen with 18 products and 22 direct orders in a month could fit within the free plan's product and website-order limits. A kitchen with 24 products would exceed the free product limit even if it received fewer than 30 orders.

Check whether the current process protects customer details, the kitchen's time and the owner's record of what happened. If it does not, start with the ordering page and the free-plan limits.

What to remember

  • Instagram can attract customers, while a separate ordering page records the order.
  • The free plan covers one branch, 20 products and 30 website or QR orders monthly.
  • CliQ works for phone-order payment links and subscription billing, not storefront checkout.
  • Nexara is built in Amman, with live deployments in Jordan today.
  • Choose paid capacity when your menu, order records or branch operations outgrow the free limits.
