Cash, CliQ, card and payment links for restaurants in Jordan

On Thursday evening, the driver is ready to leave and a phone-order customer says they sent a CliQ transfer. Someone at the branch needs to check the receiving account before the driver collects cash a second time.

Cash, CliQ, card and payment links

Nexara, a restaurant order and operations platform built in Amman, Jordan, supports cash on delivery or pickup, enabled HyperPay cards, phone-order CliQ, and payment links subject to confirming who can issue them. CliQ is unavailable at storefront checkout. Start with a WhatsApp conversation to plan your payment setup.

Which payment methods belong in each ordering channel?

Choose payment methods by how the customer orders. A website customer needs a checkout choice. A phone-order agent needs to select the agreed method. A dine-in guest needs a clear way to settle the shared bill.

Nexara sits beside the till as the order and operations layer. Its payment options differ by channel. Use the table below when writing checkout instructions or training the person answering the phone.

The restaurant ordering website guide explains the branded storefront. Keep customer-facing payment wording specific to the channel: a phone-order payment arrangement should not appear among the website's checkout instructions.

Who hands over cash, and how should you check it at close?

Nexara's storefront supports cash on delivery and cash on pickup. Customers can pay when they receive their food. The restaurant remains responsible for collection and handover, including cash that returns to the branch with a driver.

For pickup, the person handing over the bag should know whether cash is due. For delivery, your procedure should specify who collects and when that cash returns to the branch. If a courier partner collects money, confirm its remittance terms and the record your cashier will receive.

Keep driver handovers separate from money collected at the counter until both are accounted for. Record a shortage or change dispute while the people involved can still explain it. A delivery marked complete and cash physically returned to the drawer are different events.

Nexara includes Cashier Reconciliation and End of Day report tabs, along with cashier net sales. Use these alongside the drawer count and driver handover records. As part of your restaurant's closing procedure, compare expected cash with counted cash, rather than comparing the drawer with total sales that also include payments made through a provider or bank transfer.

How do HyperPay card payments settle?

Nexara's HyperPay payment setup includes test and production modes, 3-D Secure verification, refunds and payment-result updates. A completed card payment and a bank payout are separate records: use the provider transaction record for the customer's payment and your bank statement for the deposit.

Ask HyperPay to confirm the payout schedule, processing charges and receiving account before planning how much money will be available for suppliers. Ask whether any reserve terms apply, and keep the answers with your branch's payment procedures.

When a customer says their card was charged but the order remains unresolved, use the original transaction reference to investigate with the provider. Asking for another payment before resolving the first can leave the customer paying twice.

For refund enquiries, keep that original transaction reference available and check progress through the provider. Confirm the expected bank-credit timing before giving the customer a date. The person handling the enquiry should distinguish a refund request from money appearing back in the customer's account.

The commission-free online ordering guide explains own-channel costs. Put processing charges and the software subscription on separate lines when comparing costs.

What are the two uses of CliQ in Nexara?

For customer payments, staff can select CliQ for a phone order on Nexara's call-center screen. Staff must verify receipt in the receiving account before treating the order as paid.

Give the customer the receiving account details and exact order total. Match the transfer reference and amount manually against the account's transaction record. Keep the transfer reference beside the order reference in your payment-check record so the cashier can connect the two.

A customer's screenshot can help locate a transfer, but the receiving account is where you establish receipt. If the transfer remains unresolved at shift change, leave its order reference and follow-up details for the next cashier.

CliQ also pays the restaurant's Nexara subscription. The owner submits a subscription-transfer claim for approval. Keep this business expense separate from customer receipts for food, including when filing transfer records for the month.

Who can issue payment links for phone orders?

Confirm with Nexara who can issue payment links before offering them to customers. Nexara supports links for phone orders; the launch checklist below covers the issuing process and the payment checks your branch needs.

Nexara's Call Center is a Pro-plan feature. Agents can look up a customer by phone number and see saved addresses and past orders. The call-center order-taking guide covers that workflow.

Keep the order reference available throughout the payment conversation. If a customer calls back after attempting payment, the person answering should find the original order before asking them to start again. This gives the cashier a specific sale to investigate while the kitchen continues working.

What should you check before taking live payments?

Nexara's order statuses include awaiting payment, and its order history supports search and filters. The order record helps staff find the sale; collection and settlement checks belong in the relevant cash, account or provider record. Use one launch checklist to assign those checks.

  • Cash: identify the collector, handover record and person responsible for comparing expected cash with the closing count.
  • HyperPay: confirm company enablement and record the provider's answers about the receiving account, charges and payout schedule. Test a successful payment, a failed payment and a refund.
  • CliQ phone orders: assign transfer verification and specify how staff keep the transfer reference with the order reference.
  • Payment links, issuing: ask Nexara to demonstrate who can issue a link, how other staff request one during service and how it reaches the customer. Use sample delivery and pickup orders.
  • Payment links, money: establish which payment method the link uses, where funds go and which record proves receipt. Test completed and unfinished payments, a customer callback and the refund-request procedure. Write down who handles an unresolved payment.
  • Dine-in: test the pay-at-counter procedure. Nexara hides online card payment for dine-in to avoid double payment on a shared bill.

At close, separate cash awaiting handover from card payments awaiting settlement. Give unresolved items a payment reference and a named person for follow-up. This keeps a late driver handover from being investigated as though it were a missing bank payout.

Nexara has a free plan plus paid plans per branch in JOD, with current rates on request. Include the call-center requirement when discussing the plan for your restaurant.
